Photo strips and print layouts in FotoboxSuite
Design 10 × 15 cm prints and double 5 × 15 cm photo strips: format selection, print-sheet preview and cutting on a Windows printer.
FotoboxSuite creates print layouts for 10 × 15 cm and 5 × 15 cm Fotostreifen in landscape and portrait orientation. Design a single strip in the layout editor. For printing, the software combines two identical strips on one full sheet. The digital image and print sheet can therefore have different dimensions.
Which formats are available?
Choose the output format first when creating a free layout or single photo. The library shows each format and lets you filter templates by format. Existing custom formats remain available as separate canvases.
| Layout format | Digital file | Print sheet |
|---|---|---|
| 10 × 15 cm quer | 1800 × 1200 Pixel | One layout on one sheet |
| 10 × 15 cm hoch | 1200 × 1800 Pixel | One layout on one sheet |
| Double strips 5 × 15 cm portrait | 600 × 1800 pixels, one strip | 1200 × 1800 Pixel, zwei gleiche Streifen nebeneinander |
| Double strips 5 × 15 cm landscape | 1800 × 600 pixels, one strip | 1800 × 1200 pixels, two identical strips stacked |
These pixel dimensions are the software’s predefined standard sizes. The actual printed paper size and margins also depend on the printer and its Windows driver.
From layout to test print
- Choose a format. Create a free layout or single photo and choose the appropriate landscape or portrait format.
- Design strips. Place photo fields, text and your own images on the individual canvas. Check the crop and keep important content clear of the cut line.
- Check the full print sheet. The print-sheet preview shows both strips and can be enlarged. A red line marks the cut position in the preview.
- Assign a printer. Assign exactly one Windows printer to each layout type in use. Multiple layout types can use the same printer.
- Set paper, resolution and cutting. Open the printer properties using the gear icon. Save the appropriate driver settings for strips or choose manual cutting.
- Test with the intended paper. Check a real print for size, orientation, crop and cut position before guests use the photo booth.
What does the red cut line mean?
For the new double-strip formats, the red line is a guide in the print-sheet preview. It is not part of the finished strip image. It sits between side-by-side portrait strips or between stacked landscape strips.
When does automatic strip cutting work?
Automatic cutting requires a suitable cutting printer and matching Windows driver settings saved locally. FotoboxSuite uses the settings from the printer driver. Selecting a strip layout alone does not activate a cutter.
If your printer does not support the required cut, you can choose manual cutting . The software still prints a sheet with two identical strips. Private driver data remains on the individual photo booth and must be configured separately on another device.
How are copies and print quotas counted?
Copies and print quotas refer to print sheets. A double-strip sheet produces two strips. A quota of 100 sheets therefore provides up to 200 strips in this format. The print log also lists the resulting strip count.
The decisive practical test is a print using your printer, driver and paper. A correct preview confirms the design, but does not prove the mechanical cut.
